Second Meeting Notes

In attendance: Steve Pearce, Shawn Canning, Yancy Espinoza, Reuben Marsden, Lachlin McKinnon, Brian Janneke, James Davidge

$55 collected by James for the YMCA Strong Kids Foundation.

Last night's discussion:

Pearce put forward a comment on Rememberance Day from the Canadian Veterans Association.
Sentiment for our own relatives connected to military action was acknowledged.
The value of recognizing the sacrifice.
The military honouring the fallen in such a societally massive way contrasts with the quietness a veteran often demonstrates regarding their war time.
What is the sacrifice?
Jumping on a grenade to save a mate.
We sacrifice a soldiers morality by making them murderers.
What is this freedom we always talk about?
Many definable freedoms are gained not through warfare but through non-violent political action ex. the Equal Persons Act.
Discussing ideas is brainwashing.
